Burkina Faso
Crosscontinental Uranium Limited (XCon) has established subsidiaries in Burkina Faso to explore in that country for uranium. Little previous exploration for uranium has been conducted in Burkina Faso, and, although it is a burgeoning destination for gold and base metal mining, the uranium mining statutes have not yet been formulated. XCon has applied for ten areas that it believes are prospective for uranium, and has entered a joint venture with Southern Cross Exploration and Longreach Oil NL over two granted titles in the north east of the country, near the border with Mali.
